History

Altieri Specialty Coffee is a family-owned business founded in 2005 by Eugene Altieri, an Italian American businessman who moved Panama in 1973. Almost 2 decades ago, Eugene was offered the opportunity to acquire two farms in Boquete, which he bought without knowing the farm’s potential for growing specialty coffee.

Soon thereafter, the farms were transformed and replanted with 4 varieties of coffee: geisha, typica, catuai and caturra. Through the years, the farm has earned various awards, especially through the Best of Panama competitions.

Eugene’s children are now following his legacy working together with a strong professional team to expand the Altieri Specialty Coffee brand, always iterating to achieve the highest quality for its customers. For the Altieri family, coffee is not a business, it’s a passion.

Mission

Altieri Specialty Coffee: we elevate people, communities and consumers experience around high-quality coffee.

At Altieri Specialty Coffee, we are proud producers of excellent quality specialty coffee, providing personalized services and at the same time creating community development among our workers and their families. As a part of our effort to enhance the quality of life of our workers, we have built accommodations for each worker and their families, which include a sewing area for women in the compound and a tutoring room for the children.
